Bearsville Theater, Bearsville, NY
Onteora senior, Nissa Gustafson, wants to make a difference in the world. So she's launching a musical benefit, "Solar Songs," on Sunday, September 13, 2009, at the Bearsville Theatre. The purpose is to raise funds for a one-month trip to Nepal, where she'll distribute solar cookers to rural villagers and teach them how to purify water and prepare meals—using free energy from the sun. Amy Soucy and I will be performing a set at 3:30 as part of this wonderful event that will also feature Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, and international vocal group Prana.
