Pine Hill, NY 12465
Date: October 2, 2010
Time: 11:00am - 11:00pm
This is going to be a fantastic day of music, presentations and song circles, culminating in a lively contra dance with a great dance band and caller. The day will kick off with a "Folk Musics of the Catskills" presentation featuring Hebrew, Celtic, Native American and Mexican performers, a Catskill sing-along, storytelling, an afternoon concert where I will feature, and an evening concert featuring the fabulous Mike and Ruthy and the Saturday Night Bluegrass Band. After this we'll move the tables and chairs aside and dance into the night with a great contra-dance band and caller. This family friendly day will feature children's programs throughout, local arts and crafts for sale, food, and demonstrations of traditional Catskill skills. Most importantly, all the artists are local, Catskill grown! The event will take place at the Pine Hill Community Center, 287 Main Street, Pine Hill, NY 12465. See www.pinehillcommunitycenter.org for information, or call 845-254-5469.

Time: 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Please join me and enjoy the 2010 Annual Kingston Bluestone Festival October 3, noon to 6 PM, at the grounds of Hudson River Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing - Kingston, NY 12401.Bluestone, bricks, and limestone cement played a significant part in Kingston’s 19th and early 20th century industry. These local materials, most notably bluestone, were used in building Kingston’s streets, curbs, buildings, and other structures. Today, the original bluestone continues to be a valued part of Kingston’s visible character. Its presence contributes to the "sense of place" that attracts people to live in Kingston or to visit it.
